Phone Bugs

Phone bugs are able to monitor conversations on the phone instrument and in the room near the target phone. Phone bugs are always operating, even when the phone is on hook. That way the phone bug can broadcast what is being said in the targeted room.

Some phone bugs and some high tech bugging devices can be remotely turned on in order to reduce the risk of detection. Phone bugging may involve the use of phone bugs that have been invasively installed. Other phone bugging operations involve non-invasive phone bugs such as an answering machine or EPABX's remote access monitoring feature.
