Covert Body Wires

Covert body wires are used by law enforcement in order to avoid physical detection. A covert body wire can be worn by an undercover officer who would hide the covert wire out of plain site. A covert body wire is not necessarily a body worn transmitter. Covert body wires can also be built into everyday objects for stationary surveillance operations.

When used in undercover operations, covert body wires are relied upon to operate for long durations of time. Some covert body wires can be powered to transmit for several days, compared to miniature covert body wires and wireless microphones that only last for hours. As with all covert body wires, the user is required to perform pre field testing exercises prior to live usage during an investigation or undercover operation.
