Bugging Devices

Bugging devices used for room bugging are generally made of a radio bug placed in close proximity to a conversation. Bugging devices or radio bugs can be activated by a switch, remote control, or by voice. Some bug devices are one time use bugs, where a covert bug may be encased in a permanent fixture. In that case, the room bug would operate for a fixed time, then be discarded. Once this type of bugging device runs out of power, it cannot be used again.

Other bugging devices or electronic bugs can be placed on a phone line or connected to the alternating power of the room they are placed in. These type of electronic bugs may be considered as bugging devices with no known cessation of power, as the phone line and the electrical lines can power the electronic bugs indefinitely.
